About Anna

Anna Simamora is a professional chef who has been an Executive Chef at several COMO hotel and resort properties. COMO is a luxurious boutique hotel chain located all around the world, and Anna has worked in their Caribbean, Bhutan and Maldives resorts. It was at Parrot Cay in the Caribbean that Anna baked the wedding cake for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner as well as providing in - house catering for many high profile Hollywood celebrities on their annual summer vacations. 

Anna began her career as an apprentice at Sydney’s renowned Italian restaurant Bel Mondo cooking under the guidance of Steve Manfredi and his mother, Franca — an inspiring introduction to the passion of cooking. Anna then went on to develop her skills at Neil Perry’s richly endowed Rockpool group. Anna learnt contemporary Asian at Wokpool and then went to Rockpool to learn pastry. It was at Rockpool restaurant she was given the wonderful opportunity to train under one of Sydney’s finest dessert chefs, Catherine Adams. Another chef and friend who is very influential to Anna and played a important role in developing her style of cooking is Amanda Gale - Executive chef for COMO hotels and resorts.

Along her journey Anna has learnt to present food in a simple, rustic manner balanced with clean flavours, finished with a punch!

Her philosophy on food is all about flavour, texture and using seasonal produce, with an emphasis on sustainability and strong support for local providers.
